Ay?e, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble.  喬惠喜是服裝店的老板，善與經營的他將服裝店運營的十分紅火。喬慧喜有一塊心病，那就是他至今還沒有一個兒子。這一天，喬慧喜回到了農村老家，得知自己的妻子惠妹又懷孕了。可是，他們已經生了兩個孩子了，生育指標早就用完。喬德喜與表哥張愚一起去陳半仙家求神，陳半仙很肯定的告訴喬慧喜，惠妹這一次懷的是男胎，喬德喜決定，要不惜一切代價，讓老婆把孩子生下來。喬慧喜想了一個損招，他讓惠妹去和農民楊冬根結婚，這樣她就可以名正言順的生下肚子里的孩子，雖然惠妹百般的不樂意，但拗不過喬慧喜的威逼利誘，最終她同意了。
