　　After serving two years on a military outpost in the middle of an ocean – four soldiers are waiting for a new crew to replace them. When the long-awaited boat finally appears, it’s empty with no relief on board. When trying to find out what happened to the boat and the missing crew, they realize they’ve lost all communications with home. 　　A blended family from the city buys a house sight unseen in an isolated backwoods hamlet. Things get rocky when the locals aren't as welcoming as expected and a dangerous urban legend turns out to be true. In their struggle to put down roots, they find their sanctuary in peril-and their lives threatened-by the land's haunted past.

 林黛玉（周璇 飾）和薛寶釵（王丹鳳 飾）相繼來(lái)到賈府定居，賈寶玉（袁美云 飾）對(duì)她們的到來(lái)感到非常高興。賈寶玉和黛玉對(duì)世俗仕途和經(jīng)濟(jì)繁華持有反感，盡管他們之間有深厚的感情，但彼此不時(shí)發(fā)生誤會(huì)，親疏之間產(chǎn)生變化。寶釵多次勸告寶玉致力于仕途，但寶玉對(duì)此感到反感。賈母一方面寵愛(ài)寶玉，同時(shí)又希望通過(guò)婚姻來(lái)束縛寶玉。大小姐元春，在她回家省親時(shí)選定了寶釵作為婚姻的對(duì)象。王熙鳳（白虹 飾）在其中起到了推波助瀾的作用，最終通過(guò)掉包的計(jì)策破壞了寶玉和黛玉之間的愛(ài)情。林黛玉在病榻上心灰意冷而去世。賈寶玉在新婚之夜發(fā)現(xiàn)自己受到欺騙，在為林黛玉祭奠之后，拋棄了通靈寶玉，決定離開(kāi)塵世，出家修行。
