Ay?e, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 　　為紀念蘇聯衛國戰爭30周年，前蘇聯莫斯科電影制片廠于1970—1972年，拍攝了一部堪稱前蘇聯電影史上耗資最巨、規模最大、場面最為壯觀的戰爭題材影片———《解放》。影片從1943年蘇聯紅軍反攻（庫爾斯克戰役）開始，到強渡涅伯河，解放基輔，最后攻克柏林。分為五集，片長將近8個小時。導演尤里·奧澤洛夫為強調“紀實性”、“史詩性”，在影片中穿插了大量的真實歷史文獻鏡頭。影片還出現了不少歷史人物，如斯大林、朱可夫、羅斯福、丘吉爾、希特勒、墨索里尼等。此外，影片還蘊涵豐富感人的故事情節，從蘇、德兩軍統帥到普通士兵，從蘇軍反攻到德軍覆沒，成功地表現了一種攻無不克、戰無不勝的革命樂觀主義精神。
