　　效力于某知名搜索引擎公司的程序員加利·史密斯（多姆納爾·格利森 Domhnall Gleeson 飾）幸運地抽中老板納森（奧斯卡?伊薩克 Oscar Isaac 飾）所開出的大獎，他將受邀前往位于深山的別墅中和老板共度假期。在與世隔絕的別墅中，納森親切地接待了這位員工。 事實上他邀請加利到來還有另一個目的，那就是協助他完成其所開發的智能機器人的測試。天才一般的納森研制了具有獨立思考能力的智能機器人伊娃（艾麗西亞·維坎德 Alicia Vikander 飾），為了確認她是否具有獨立思考的能力，他希望加利能為伊娃進行著名的“圖靈測試”。似乎從第一眼開始，加利便為這臺有著宛如人類般姣好容顏的機器人所吸引。　　在隨后的交流中，他所面對的似乎不是冷冰冰的機器，而更像是一個被無辜囚禁起來的可憐少女……

Ay?e, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble.
