　　陳薇（尹馨 飾）帶著女兒（林采潔 飾）為躲避家暴的丈夫住進有自殺勝地之稱的蝴蝶大廈后怪事頻傳。管理員梁伯（馮淬帆 飾）和頂樓的廟公山叔（蔡振南 飾）不斷提醒她這一層樓不太干凈，如果有能力還是盡快搬走，但是經濟拮據的她暫時只能棲身于此。各種三教九流的鄰居、雜貨鋪有陰陽眼的自閉癥男孩阿弟（白潤音 飾），還有那間被再三交代禁止靠近的613號房，一切都令陳薇感到詭異莫名。外表陽光的代班管理員小梁（曹佑寧 飾）對獨立堅強的陳薇照顧有加，經常借故上門幫忙維修家電，陳薇女兒看到他來也會難得露出微笑。正值鬼門開時，蝴蝶大廈內意外頻傳，甚至發生許多靈異事件，但老住戶們似乎已經習以為常。陳薇原本是想帶女兒逃離丈夫，不料卻將自己卷入更大危機之中...

　　A group of young men dare a classmate to reach the porch of a legendary old house, said to be haunted by the thirteen victims of a family massacre. In hopes of making a viral video they arm him with a video camera to prove he was there or to capture him fleeing in terror before even reaching the house, as others have. When he doesn't return, the guys must go in to get him. Inside they discover the truth about the house, the fate of their friend and their own fate as well.

　　The first feminist vegan horror film, The Herd has been rejected by some film festivals for being too horrific or political. A number of kidnapped women are kept imprisoned in a squalid medical facility condemned to a life of enforced servitude at the whims of their captors, without any hope of rescue or escape.

　　與丈夫（安東尼·拉帕格利亞飾）慶祝完結婚25周年后不久，丈夫出差在外，達西（瓊·艾倫）在車庫找電池，卻無意中發現丈夫就是新聞中說的“臭名昭著的連環殺手比蒂”。　　影片的小說藍本是金2010年出版的短篇小說集《暗夜無星》（Full Dark, No Stars）中的一篇。金在接受采訪時說，小說的靈感來自于2005年被捕的美國“BTK連環殺手”丹尼斯·雷德（Dennis Rader），他就有一位結婚三十四年的妻子寶拉（Paula），對他的殺人行為毫不知情。金表示，小說探討的是，人與人之間永遠不可能完全了解，即使是最愛的人也一樣。
