 以《返家十萬里》揚名的導(dǎo)演卡羅爾·巴拉德一鳴驚人之作。以戲劇化的抒情風(fēng)格描述一名男孩在船難中跟黑神駒同時漂流到荒島上，人與馬建立了兩位一體的非凡感情。后來他們獲救重回人類社會，巧遇老牌馬術(shù)教練，乃被訓(xùn)練成出色的賽馬和小小年紀(jì)的騎師，在一次比賽中獲得冠軍。全片的攝影極為優(yōu)美動人，尤其當(dāng)時的童星凱利·里諾在沙灘上跟黑神駒玩耍的場面，在視聽效果上呈現(xiàn)出大自然之美的極至。米基·魯尼飾演的馴馬師在片中也占有重要地位，一老一少和馬之間的三角互動關(guān)系爆發(fā)出感人的火花，堪稱同類影片中的一流代表作。

西南偏南電影節(jié)劇情片競賽。                                                                      　　Nellie and Daisy attempt to escape the institution for delinquent girls in 1954 New Zealand, however not only are they caught, it triggers a relocation to a facility on a remote island. The duo become a trio as well-to-do Lou joins them, and life on the island takes shape under the command of devout Matron. The trio rail against the system, dubious of the benevolence of the bible and taking refuge in their blossoming friendship. It’s hard to reform girls who don’t believe they need reforming. However, a sense of doom settles in when experimental forms of punishment take place in the dead of night. Nellie and Daisy plot rebellion, but unexpectedly find themselves at odds with Lou, who is afraid to break the rules.

日軍侵華，陳春生目睹父親慘死刀下，執(zhí)念驅(qū)使他不顧母親哀求，深夜偷跑參軍，立誓抗日救國，再回家鄉(xiāng)。他在戰(zhàn)場浴血成長，終見山河光復(fù)，然而內(nèi)戰(zhàn)打響，拖慢了他回鄉(xiāng)的腳步。陳春生拒絕向同胞舉槍，淪為逃兵被關(guān)押，1949年被強(qiáng)行運往臺灣。在臺數(shù)十年，他漂泊無依，雖遇良伴組建新家，卻始終被思鄉(xiāng)之苦煎熬。兩岸三通后，他竟得知母親仍在等他，八十三歲的他飛奔回鄉(xiāng)，與百歲母親相認(rèn)，這份遲到71年的承諾，終在生命盡頭圓滿。
