影片翻拍自阿根廷電影《膝下無子》，講述了高中時期遇見初戀的男人無意間將家庭史變成秘密而展開的一系列風波浪漫喜劇故事。

　　THE CONFINES is a claustrophobic thriller that follows a troubled young woman who, in a last-ditch effort at getting her life together, takes a job working nights as a security guard at an abandoned luxury apartment building. Stuck with a brusque rent-a-cop as her partner, she tries to not let her mind play tricks on her while she patrols the empty halls. But as the night progresses strange things begin to happen - and she realizes it may not all be in her head.

這是系列首次以露伴的責任編輯、同時也是其得力搭檔——泉京香為主人公展開的故事。這一次，京香因露伴的一句話，被卷入一場難以想象的怪異事件。本作在原作者荒木飛呂彥的協助下完成劇本創作，并由在國際上也備受關注的導演組合“5月”的關友太郎與平瀨謙太朗共同執筆，推出全新原創故事。
